Downloadable Books, Audiobooks, & More! from Libby 

Did you know that you can borrow electronic books and audiobooks from the library? You can enjoy them on almost any device, including your phone, tablet, Kindle, or computer. (Magazines & videos too!)

The simplest way to get started is by downloading the Libby app on your phone or tablet. Libby allows you to find, borrow, read, and listen to books all in one place. If you are using a Kindle or computer, beehive.overdrive.com will connect you to the library’s digital collection. You just need your library card and PIN to get started.

As part of the Beehive Library Consortium our library partners with the Utah State Library system in sharing electronic titles with patrons around Utah. American Fork residents always jump to the front of the line for our own materials. This means that when you put a book on hold, the wait time is often shorter than anticipated. Plus, it gives librarians an idea of what our community is reading so we can purchase copies just for you.

With Utah's Online Public Library, a service of the Utah State Library and the American Fork Library, you can:

Utah's Online Public Library is a virtual library as close as your computer, tablet, or smartphone. It offers a portal for finding a wealth of information for research purposes, general interest, Utah government information, and other Internet resources. OpenAthens is used to authenticate your login and create a more secure and private browsing environment. All you need is your library card and an email address to create your free single sign-on account.

Kanopy is a video streaming service for quality, thoughtful entertainment. Find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films, and educational videos. This on-demand streaming service is now available for free for American Fork cardholders. Films can be streamed from a computer, television, or mobile device by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast, FireTV, or Roku.  Questions? Click here.

 Create an account: 

  • Go to our Kanopy link: americanforklibrary.kanopy.com
  • Click on Add Library Card. Type in your American Fork library card number and PIN.
  • Complete the account registration with an email address and password.
  • Verify your email address.
  • Start streaming on your preferred device!

Films:

  • Beginning November 1, 2023 Kanopy is changing from play credits to a ticket system
  • Your 8 credits will become 24 tickets per month

  • Most movies will be 2 tickets but major studio releases (i.e. MGM) will be 4 tickets

  • Television series and the Great Courses ticket cost will be based on viewing time

  • 2-4 hours of viewing time will be 2-3 tickets (with a viewing period 3 days)

  • 4-6+ hours of viewing time will be 4-5 tickets (with a viewing period 7-21 days)

  • Kanopy Kids will be 0 tickets. To view the Kanopy Kids collection sign into your Kanopy account, then click on Kids on the top right. (Parental controls are available to enable.)
