COVID-19 IMPACT TO SERVICES: THE SENIOR CENTER WILL BE TEMPORARILY CLOSED AND ALL PROGRAMS AND RESERVATIONS CANCELED AT THIS TIME. MEALS WILL STILL BE PROVIDED AS OUTLINED BELOW.
*Due to recommendations for State Health Department the Senior Center has temporarily halted in-house dining. Instead meals will be available Monday through Friday, from 11-noon, in a drive-up and go fashion at the back of the center. When you arrive someone will hand you a prepacked meal that you can take without getting out of your car. Call at least a day in advance to request future meals. 801-763-3090.
All individuals receiving meals are asked to fill out a registration form. The form can be downloaded, printed and returned to the senior center on you next visit. Click Here to download form.
The suggested donation is $3. The monthly menu is available at the Center on the last Friday of the previous month. You can also check the menu online at https://mountainland.org/menu-utah-county.
While City does not manage assisted living centers, there are other organizations that help provide senior living resources for the elderly. Seniorguidance.org is one such example.
We have a driver and van to pick up those who need help to bring them to the center for lunch. There is a $1 donation.
We play bingo every Friday following lunch. No charge.
Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a $3 per month fee to help pay for the use of the kiln and for paint. Some greenware is available at the class. We also ask everyone participating to pay the annual Senior Citizen membership fee of $4.
We meet every Tuesday at 10 a.m., except the first Tuesday, in the basement of the Senior Center. The 1st Tuesday of every month, we meet in the Pleasant Grove Library in the Little Theater at 10 a.m. We also meet the second and last Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Senior Center. No fees.
On the 1st and 2nd Friday of each month, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, someone comes to the center to check blood pressure.
We have Ensure available. Suggested donation is $20 per case.
Senior Volunteer Opportunities
The Senior Center is looking for someone to run a ceramics class one day a week. If you are interested, call (801) 763-3090.
Meals-on-Wheels (PDF) needs volunteer drivers one day a week, for one hour, in a limited delivery radius from American Fork Senior Center. Volunteers use their own vehicles to pick up the food at the Senior Center and deliver the meals to the elderly, ill, frail or disabled senior in their homes.
If you are interested in delivering Meals-On-Wheels, call (801) 229-3821.
