Rather than a knee-jerk, defensive reaction to the findings of the UTA, I would like for the Council to seriously look at how our taxes are being spent. Instead of spending six to nine million on a park, how about the roads. Instead of turning a great open area into a cemetery addition and tearing up a street that was actually in pretty good shape just to bury more people, use that money on roads that are terrible. Instead of spending all that money on 600 N., east of First East, (to the benefit of the developer), spend it on main-traveled roads. Or perhaps develop a city program to fix up/paint/whatever's needed, some of the homes in the multiple areas of blight. Or, (a novel and unrealistic idea, I know), lower taxes and let us keep it. It is, after all, our money.

Could we get a simple bike lane or an unbroken stretch of sidewalk along 200 S (or 7750 N) from the freeway underpass to the Frontrunner station? I see too many bikers and pedestrians forced into traffic on the busy road (especially around rush hours) due to lack of shoulder or unbroken stretch of sidewalk. Let's fix this before someone gets run over and killed.
